Beach Waves in January?!

Hear ye, hear ye! Is your hair suffering from frost bitten, boring winter straightness? Do you crave those sweet waves in your hair that the salty beach air gave you just a few months ago? Well my dears, wipe your tears because I found something almost as great as the beach!

Just kidding, it doesn’t even compare. But it will make your hair love you again and your selfies will be even better than your beach selfies because you’re fully dressed!

Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

I discovered it while roaming around Duane Reade waiting for my prescription to be done at the pharmacy. The bright blue hair designs on the bottle jumped out to me and pretty much yelled at me to buy it. I didn’t fight back. Grabbed a banana too, and headed home to test out my new beachy look.

I wasn’t quite sure how my hair would take to it since it’s naturally curly. I decided since it was already straight from the day that I’d put a few curls in it and see if this spray would tame them into waves. Let me tell you. The curling is not necessary! It made waves, but it looked more like I had curled my hair then got caught in the rain. But it does create a different look.

So today I tried it with just straight hair and it made a world of a difference. I am on my second day, ifyouknowwhatimean, and it’s the perfect day to try out my beach waves again. I spritz the spray generously, on all layers of my locks, and scrunched it up to my scalp. After it air dried a tad, I checked to see if anything else needed a little more spritzing.

When I left this morning, it was a little drizzly. Normally this would be the beginning to a miserable day, but the humidity actually worked in my favor to make my waves look more Pacific than Atlantic. I dig it.

So that’s it! Just spray and go! Please, take my warning. It does taste like ocean salt water- don’t try it. Also, it might make your hands feel a little gross if you play with your hair a lot. Guilty. But no harm done!

  1. Hey Steph! One of my go-to hair products is TRESemme's Heat Tamer Spray. I hate blow dryers, straighteners and curling irons because of the heat so I typically let my hair dry naturally. When I have to run out the door and my hair is still wet, I make sure to spray a little of this TRESemme product on my hair before blowdrying, straightening, or curling. After chopping 8 inches off a few months ago, I'm trying to keep my hair as healthy as possible. 🙂

  2. So i love my long locks and never want them to go breaking on me so I use a hair balm probably once a week. The one i am using now is from L'oreal Total repair 5's collection. It is kind of a dupe for the Macadamia Hair mask. It says to only leave it in 3 to 5 mins but when i was my hair and im going to use it, i dry my hair with a towel, apply it, and leave it in for up to two hours. my hair feels brand new!
