Miss Jessie’s Coily Custard // Product Review

So maybe you’ve noticed lately that my hair has had a ferocious, lioness look to it. Yes, my hair is naturally curly, but I’ve never seen it like this!

I recently attended a new product party at Miss Jessie’s salon in SoHo that Birchbox had organized. I went into it not quite knowing what to expect as I had never tried Miss Jessie’s products before. Let’s just say that I’m blown away at how amazing their new Coily Custard works.

First things first. Shower / wash your hair so it’s wet. As shown above, what my hair looks like when I get out of the shower before I put heat to it.

Get out your bottle of Coily Custard and separate your hair into a bottom layer and a top layer.

Take each layer into about four sections and apply the custard to it as if you’re mixing vodka sauce into angel hair pasta; you want it to touch all parts. What’s worse than getting to a clump of stuck-together, dry pasta. Womp.

Once you’ve applied the product, you can either let it air dry, or lightly dry it with a hair diffuser. If you don’t know what that is, it’s the crazy looking spiked thing that sometimes comes with your hair dryer.

Put the dryer on low and scrunch your hair from tip to root with the diffuser. For even more volume, flip your hair and let gravity do it’s magic!

Once your hair is dry, it may look something like this (cc: reverse ombre):

Or this.

Or maybe even this!

Lastly, the final test. I usually hate to wear my hair curly because of the after effects. When I wash my hair after my old way of intense moussing and hair spraying, my hair would feel straight up yucky.

I used only Coily Custard in my hair and it held like no other. I was even more happy when I could wash it like usual the next day and there was no icky feeling!

In conclusion, I give Miss Jessie’s two thumbs up. Even three if I had another!! I can’t wait to try out the rest of their products. It might be safe to say I’m an addict now..

If you’re sick of your everyday blowout, sprint, don’t run, over to Miss Jessie’s site and pick up their fantastical products (also sold at Walgreen’s!)! I promise you that you will love the way your hair looks, especially if you have a little of that natural curl like me!

Thanks Miss Jessie’s and Birchbox for introducing me to my new favorite hair product!

Happy Thursday!

xx -S
