Baking is my favorite (edible) way to celebrate just about any holiday. I find an insane amount of joy in decorating cupcakes, cookies, chocolates, the list goes on, and when I can find the time to do it, I go all out. This year, Valentine’s Day is no exception!
There’s a baking store on 22nd St. between 5th and 6th Ave called New York Cake and Baking Supplies (56 W 22nd St.). They have every kind of decoration you could ever imagine. I got the adorable tiny heart sprinkles and cookie cutters there, and tons of other super cute decorations that I’ve used for other holidays (autumn leaf sprinkles, cake pans, cupcake liners).
For these cookies, I used sugar cookie mix, melted white and red chocolate to make tiny hearts to put on them and decorated them with sprinkles. They came out a lot cuter than they taste, but it’s what’s on the outside that counts right? 😉
I also used a mini cupcake pan to make little heart chocolates. I squeezed a white heart into the bottom of the pan, then red around it and milk chocolate for the top (back?). Perfect for a little something to let your friends know you’re thinking of them!
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, I ate chocolate and cookie dough for dinner last night, then painted my nails the perfect shade of brown. We’ll see what the rest of the day has in store, but I will definitely be hitting up that 75% off V-Day candy shelf at the store tomorrow!
Happy Valentine’s Day my loves!
