The Pink Statement

I think the best kind of statement to make is one you truly believe in. Some people choose politics, some choose global warming. Me? I choose fashion. When my little sister caught a glimpse of me wearing this very pink ensemble, she smiled and shook her head at me in that sweet little sister but more mature than me kind of way. She’s 13 now.

I didn’t get all of these pieces to wear together, in fact it was actually an accident. I grabbed a few pairs of earrings from Baublebar on sale, these included, and saw this amazing scarf in an email blast Bloomingdale’s sent out a while back. The jacket was brought on by my Trend to Try post all about hot pink. Somehow I inspired myself to move beyond my fashion comfort zone and the next thing I knew, this hot pink number was in my mailbox.

I believe they all work together because of the multiple shades of pink and textures. When you try to match pieces down to the exact shade, you are almost never going to win unless they are by the same designer in the same collection. I love mixing the light pink with the hot pink and burgundy. Splash of faux fur, splash of jewels.

How do you make a statement? Whether it’s a fashion statement, or any other kind of statement?? I want to know! And did everyone survive the snow storm? I spent the day inside drinking coffee and eating. I also started watching Stranger Things. It’s so creepy! Yikes!!
