Kentucky Derby Style Board

The first Saturday in May is a super exciting day. Though you might not recognize it identified as this, it’s the Kentucky Derby!!! I’ve loved horse racing for a few years now, thanks to America’s Best Racing, and I can’t wait to go to Belmont and Saratoga this summer! Aside from the prancing ponies, the fashion at the races might as well be the (second) main feature.

After a whole lot of planning, budgeting, and searching, I am sadly not able to make it to Kentucky this year. However, I will be there in spirit through social media stalking to see what everyone is wearing. Oh, and which horses win. I did actually cast my vote for a horse, solely based on his name despite all of the tips and help I’ve learned from ABR. Wish me luck!

If you’re going to a Derby party and have no clue what to wear, I’m here to help! Don’t be afraid to dress up, this is a case where more is more and it’s a perfect excuse to wear that gorgeous gown you’ve been keeping for a special occasion! And if anyone questions you, tell them where to put it, after you slap them. Here’s what is inspiring my Derby outfit this year:

  1. Floral Joy Crochet Dress – $68
  2. Derek Dress – $30
  3. Florets Splendor Jacquard Waterfall Dress – $62
  4. Wildflower Fresh Crochet Flare Dress – $60
  5. Spirit of Spring Floral Mesh Skirt in Mint – $51
  6. Dashing Darling Cami Dress – $62
  7. Porcelain Picnic Dress – $50
  8. Tiered Pep Ruffle Hem Dress – $59
  9. Hot Pink Sail Away Romper – $30
  10. Garden Floral Asymmetrical Dress – $35

  1. Deep Blue Floppy Hat – $10
  2. Striped Hinged Slider Bracelet by Lele Sadoughi – $40
  3. Gilly Garden Minaudière by Badgley Mischka – $55
  4. Boarder Fascinator Headband – $39
  5. Viridian Collage Drop Earrings by Alexis Bitter – $30
  6. Straw Peacock Clutch by Kate Spade – $50
  7. Gold Bold Flower Necklace by Oscar de la Renta – $100
  8. Veil Fascinator Headband – $39
  9. Three Bloom Vine Earrings – $40
  10. Floral Earthette Crossbody Bag by Zac Posen – $40

You might be in a pinch for time (like I always am) since Derby day is just two days away, but remember that Rent the Runway is the best way to go! Derby party on Saturday? Order your RTR today for delivery tomorrow, or order tomorrow for delivery Saturday! Always amazing, and so many options including a bunch of the pieces above! For a headpiece, try checking out a bridal shop. They usually sell more than just veils. And hey, who said you can’t wear a veil to the Derby? Anything goes my friends. Just make sure you keep it classy 😉

Happy Derby weekend!

  1. I like Wildflower Fresh Crochet Flare Dress. It’s super cute and chic in summer days. I also like Spirit of Spring Floral Mesh Skirt in Mint. This color is so fresh in hot weather. Nice post.
